Diet and the planet
15 April 2006
I have, in recent years, become increasingly concerned with industrial food production and its toll on health and the environment. As a personal experiment, I decided to go vegetarian for a few months; partly to see if I will notice changes to my body and general disposition, and partly to see if I will miss meat at all. I’m not a huge meat-eater, though I do enjoy the occasional burger and steak now and again; and as I like my cheeses and honey and milky coffees, veganism is not on the horizon just yet. However, this article on the environmental impact of our dietary choices certainly provides some — forgive the bad pun — food for thought.
