I spent most of a three-day weekend at a friend’s place (two hours away from me) not doing very much… It depends on what you mean by ‘doing’ anything, of course.
It occurred to me that doing ‘nothing’ at home is not quite the same experience as ‘doing’ nothing someplace else.

Baking as therapy

As the Moon in Pisces moves into the fourth house of my chart this weekend, and is about to move into opposition to Ceres, I have been baking, or rather, have been teaching myself to.
The picture on the left is my first attempt at a wholewheat loaf. I made a white loaf yesterday and [...]

This is one of those life-affirming things that deserves as much publicity as it gets.

I first read of it on Robert Wilkinson’s site, then found the homepage.
It’s one of those things that makes me feel like the world is in fact less crazy than it appears.
Thank you, Matt, and keep dancing.

I picked up this bloggers’ meme from mm. These are the rules:

Pick up the nearest book (of at least 123 pages).

Open the book to page 123.

Find the fifth sentence.

Post the next three sentences.

Tag five people.

I picked up a novel I have been reading on and off for the past few months. It is Banana Yoshimoto’s [...]

After the psychic disembowelling of the last few posts, it’s time to look at the small things that make it all worthwhile. My last ’small wonder’ post was way back in March 2006! Much too long ago.
Last weekend, I had two pears which were starting to go soft. Something in the recesses of [...]
